 Over
time, the labor required to produce the data you use for your business
represents the largest cost of any information system - more than computer
equipment, maintenance, and software combined. Over the years, many of
our clients have had the need to "mine" data from legacy mainframe systems,
outdated software packages, and many other sources. More often than not,
they either did without the data, kept their old systems on line at additional
cost, or hired temporary workers to retype the data into a format they
could use. Even after all that cost and effort, the ability to actually
do
things, like print Ad-Hoc reports, search keywords, sort results, etc.
was limited at best.

data from most software packages, computer platforms, and media. Once the
data is converted, we can "wrap" a custom application around it that can
give you powerful tools to use the resulting data, convert it on the spot
into, as well as out, of a whole menu of popular software packages and
database types. "Data Mining" may be a new buzz word recently in the computer
world - at Rountree & Associates, it's "old hat".

presents another dilemma about data that is outdated, or will not function
after the millenium. We have developed date specific routines that work
in conjunction with our conversion tools, to produce data that will continue
