Ever since man graduated from dugout canoes to vessels big enough to carry supplies and travel great distances, some form of constant reassurance has been needed to warn mariners where the ocean meets the shoreline. Lighthouses have always been a source of intense fascination for landlubbers as well as sailors. Not only are they interesting as architectural achievements, but penetrating the darkness with their lights, they offer direction. They are a symbol of a bygone era before our current technology, when these beacons guided ships to safety. The idea of a lighthouse seems simple enough; yet, the workings of it are very complex. The heart of a lighthouse is the great beacon beaming from its lantern. It looks out over the sea with a single, enormous eye, sometimes winking sleepily, but always brightening the night with a strong, guiding ray. So why the lighthouse on our website? Because information technology can be like a vast ocean, and for us at Rountree & Associates, the lighthouse is a constant reassurance and reminder, that even though change in today's technological world quickens with each passing day, some things will always remain the same. Like the lighthouse, our tools may fade into obselescence, but our client's need for reliable, simple, honest guidance and direction will not.
